About the Role
New Western University is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to serve as the Part-Time Department Head for the Management Department. The successful candidate will oversee academic programs, faculty, and departmental operations, while fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation in teaching, research, and community engagement. The Department Head will also be instrumental in developing new academic programs, designing courses, and ensuring effective course delivery by faculty.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the university’s goals.
• Lead the university’s accreditation processes and support the accreditation of specific programs within the department.
• Mentor faculty and staff, promoting professional development and scholarly activities.
• Enhance the department's visibility and reputation through innovative programs and partnerships.
• Teach a reduced load of management courses.
• Facilitate the creation and implementation of new courses within the department.
Requirements
PhD in Education or Doctorate in Management required.
Proven experience in academic leadership and administration.
Strong record of teaching and research in the field of management.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to interact with a diverse stakeholder group including faculty, students, and external partners.
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to be flexible and not overly rigid in problem-solving.
